Now this is going to be for those of you who have learned how to juggle 3 balls but are now curious about what you can do now. What other tricks are there to learn and how long is it going to take for me to learn these tricks?

In the Juggling Secrets course, I take you by the hand and teach you how to learn new tricks and start sharing your new talent with the world.

The 3 ball cascade is the basic juggling pattern that I teach and can be considered one of the first tricks that people learn. The cascade pattern isn’t as much of a trick as it is a pattern of juggling just as the shower pattern is a different pattern.

You can see the difference in the images below:

Now that you know the difference between the cascade and the shower pattern, let’s talk a little about different tricks that you can learn. I’m only going to touch on a few basic beginner tricks in this post because I go into more detail in my course.

Reverse Cascade

The Reverse Cascade is simply the opposite of the normal cascade. In the cascade pattern, the balls are always thrown underneath each other. When you do the reverse cascade, the balls are thrown over the top of the previous ball thrown.

To do this, you will want to imagine that there is an open box right at your eye level in the center of your body. You want to throw all of the balls up and into this box and then caught by your opposite hand. If you have trouble with this, practice the same way you learned the 3 ball cascade from the free 3 ball juggling video. You’ll practice with 2 balls and then go onto 3 once you’ve mastered 2.

Two Balls in One Hand

There are a lot of patterns that you can learn once you master juggling 2 balls in one hand. I’m going to let you know up front that this does take some work and a decent amount of practice. Juggling two balls in one hand is all about throwing the balls from the inside to the outside of the pattern as shown from the image below:

How to juggle 2 balls in 1 hand

After mastering 2 balls in 1 hand, you will be able to learn Columns and will be able to juggle 4 balls!

Columns

Columns is all about mastering 2 balls in 1 hand. The difference here is that instead of throwing the balls in a circular movement,  you will be throwing the balls up and down in a line. If you picture a ladder going straight up and down, that is what the balls do during columns.

There are several patterns you can attempt, and they each require a fair amount of practice, but the good news is that later on, by juggling 2 balls in each hand, you will be able to do 4 ball juggling, so persevere!
Columns: Throw one ball up, move your hand across and throw the next ball up, then return your hand to catch and throw the first ball and then catch and throw the second ball. Each ball is going up and down in it’s own straight line, just like an elevator/lift!
Anti-clockwise or Clockwise

The Yo-Yo

The yo-yo trick is one that is a very simple concept, but can take some time to get good at. The reason for this is that keeping the distance between your hand and the juggling ball that’s flying through the air can be difficult. You can see in the image below how it looks like my top hand has a string from it that’s pulling the other ball up. (This image is from one of the videos in the course so you can’t watch it unless you buy the course)

Eating the Apple

This is a favorite for a lot of young kids as well as the older crowd. It often gets more applause than tricks that truly are more difficult (like juggling 5 balls). The truth is that it’s a very simple trick if you can juggle 2 balls in one hand. All you need to do is juggle 2 balls and one apple. Every time the apple comes to your strong hand, bring your hand to your mouth and take a bite out of the apple. It’s recommended that when you are first learning this to focus on just kissing the apple so you don’t end up punching yourself in the teeth with an apple. To have enough time to take a bite out of the apple, you are going to need to do 2 balls in 1 hand for a few throws. .

Once you’ve mastered these tricks, there are plenty more tricks that you can learn that will take your juggling experience to the next level.

If you want to save time on learning all these tricks, you can shorten your training time by learning the secrets of juggling from my video course Juggling Secrets.
