How Can I Learn To Juggle In 5 Minutes?

By the end of this article, you’ll have learned how to juggle in 5 minutes. To be upfront and honest with you, it will take a little more time than just 5 minutes for you to truly be able to juggle, but you’ll have the concept down in 5 minutes.

This is a quick little tutorial that teaches you the outline in 60 seconds, I put this together to optimize it specifically for tik tok, so it’s quick. At the bottom of this post I’ll share a more detailed tutorial on how to juggle 3 balls.

How to Juggle With 1 Ball

The easiest way to learn to juggle in 5 minutes is to start off with one ball. You’ll throw this ball from hand-to-hand and focus on the ball going up above the shoulder opposite of the hand you threw from.

You’re basically just playing catch with yourself tossing the ball from hand to hand. You want to make sure that the ball goes up to around eye level to give you enough time to see where the ball is and to have time to catch it when it falls down.

How to Juggle with 2 Balls

Once you get comfortable with this, you’re going to move onto two balls. The biggest stumbling block with juggling 2 balls is that instead of throwing the ball from hand to hand, many people throw the first ball and then shuffle the other ball from hand to hand.

You need to actually throw the ball, or toss it, just like you did when you were juggling one ball.

The secret to making this work is that once you throw the first ball, and it gets to the peak, that’s when you throw the second ball. Inside of the Juggling Secrets Course, I have people say the words “throw-throw” out loud as a reminder for the person to throw the ball. The course guides you from absolute beginner all the way up to juggling 5 balls and it’s highly rated by my students!

Yes, it sounds silly. But it works. The idea is to make sure that your hands listen to your words and you actually throw the ball. So once you throw the first ball and it reaches the peak (when it’s ready to come down), you throw the other ball.

If you’re right handed, I recommend starting the first throw with your left hand. I’ve found that people are often able to throw with their dominant hand much easier than the other hand. So starting off with your weaker hand will make this step a little bit easier.

This means you’ll be throwing with your left hand, and once the ball reaches the peak, you throw with your right hand.

I know i’m repeating this, but it’s very important. Many people get stuck at this stage because they throw the first ball, but then shuffle or hand off the second throw. It’s important to actually throw the ball.

You’ll want to practice this for 2-3 minutes if you’re trying to learn how to juggle in 5 minutes. Remember, we’re on a time limit here so we’re cutting down on what is more recommended (15-30 mins).

As you throw the ball from your left hand up and over your right shoulder, once that ball reaches the peak you’ll throw from your right hand and try to get the throw up above your left shoulder. There is a sweet spot that you’ll find the more you do this.

There’s also a problem that some people run into with throwing the ball either too high, or too low. That’s why I recommend getting the ball to at least eye level, if not a little bit higher, when you are making these throws.

You’ll want to practice this a few times, saying the words “throw, throw” each time and then stopping and collecting the balls if you drop them. Don’t worry, it’s common to drop the balls at this stage and don’t get down on yourself if that’s happening to you.

We all drop the ball when we’re juggling. One thing you can do is look down at the ground to see where the ball lands. Ideally it will be right next to your foot. If you hold your arms at a 90 degree angle and turn your hand upside down and drop the ball, that’s around where it should land.

As you do this, you’ll get a little more comfortable and the throws will start to land where you want them to. Once you feel comfortable with that, it’s time to move onto 3 balls.

How to Juggle 3 Balls

This is where people often get overwhelmed, so I’m going to try to break it down into easy to understand instructions.

Think about how you were just juggling 2 balls, one ball was up in the air while the other ball was in your hand, right?

Well the thing about juggling 3 balls is that it’s the exact same concept, but instead of having no ball in the hand you start with, you’ll have another ball there while the first throw is in the air.

You’ll want to start off just like you did with 2 balls, except this time you’ll have 2 balls in one hand (your non-dominant hand) and one ball in your dominant hand.

Sticking with what was discussed above, we’ll assume you’re right-hand dominant. So for this, you’re going to have two balls in your left hand.

You’ll throw the left hand ball first, then the right hand ball and then the leftover left hand ball.

That’s really it! You now know how to juggle in 5 minutes.

Now you’re probably thinking “wait a minute, this isn’t working, I can’t juggle good yet!”… and that’s normal. The idea here for this particular post was to teach you how to juggle in 5 minutes. It’s a rough outline and will require a little more practice in order to truly get it.

The good news is that I do have a longer video that breaks this down a little easier and allows you to go with me at speed so that you can see all of this and understand it a little bit better.

It will take practice to get good at this, but you can do it.
