Choosing the right juggling balls is one of the most important decisions a new juggler can make. The right set can make learning faster and more enjoyable, while the wrong set can lead to frustration and slow progress. After years of juggling and testing countless brands, I keep coming back to one set as my top recommendation. In this Higgins Brothers Juggling Balls Review, I’ll share my insights on these excellent juggling tools.
In this review, I’ll break down exactly why these balls have been my go-to for over three years, covering everything from their size and feel to their durability and performance.
Welcome to my Higgins Brothers Juggling Balls Review, where I’ll break down exactly why these balls have been my go-to for over three years, covering everything from their size and feel to their durability and performance.
Higgins Brothers Juggling Balls Review: Size and Feel

At 2.5 inches and 130g, the Higgins Brothers balls are slightly larger than most — a pro for adults, worth considering for smaller hands.
The first thing you’ll notice about the Higgins Brothers balls is their size. At 2.5 inches in diameter and weighing 130g, they are slightly larger and heavier than many other beginner juggling balls on the market. For me, this is a huge plus. The extra size and weight give them a substantial, satisfying feel in the hand, making throws more consistent and catches more secure.
However, this is a key consideration for younger jugglers or those with smaller hands. If you’re buying for a child, these might be a bit too large to handle comfortably at first. But for most adults, the size is perfect.
| Feature | Specification | Benefit |
| Diameter | 2.5 inches | Fills the hand, feels substantial |
| Weight | 130g | Provides good feedback on throws |
| Feel | Soft, beanbag-style | Comfortable to catch, easy to grip |
Build Quality and Durability

Three years of heavy use and the stitching is still going strong.
After three years of consistent use, my original set of Higgins Brothers balls are still going strong. The stitching is incredibly durable and has held up to countless drops on all kinds of surfaces. The synthetic leather panels are tough yet flexible, and they show very little sign of wear and tear.
This is a testament to their quality. Many cheaper juggling balls will start to fray or split at the seams after just a few months of practice. The Higgins Brothers balls are built to last, making them a fantastic investment for anyone serious about learning to juggle.
The Roll Test: Why It Matters

The beanbag fill means the balls stay put when you drop them — a huge time-saver during practice.
One of the most frustrating parts of learning to juggle is constantly having to chase after your dropped balls. This is where beanbag-style balls like the Higgins Brothers set truly shine. When you drop them, they land with a satisfying thud and stay put. They don’t bounce or roll away.
This might seem like a small detail, but it makes a massive difference in your practice sessions. You’ll spend less time bending over and chasing balls and more time actually juggling. This simple feature is one of the biggest reasons I recommend beanbags over any other type of ball for beginners.
Visibility and Color Options

I chose the bright red set for a reason: visibility. When you’re juggling, and especially when filming, you want balls that stand out clearly against your background. The red balls are incredibly easy to track with your eyes, whether you’re juggling against a black t-shirt or a white wall.
They come in a wide variety of colors, so you can pick a set that matches your style. But if you’re unsure, I highly recommend a bright, primary color like red, blue, or yellow for the best possible visibility.
The bright red color is easy to see against any background, making it great for practice and videos.
The Verdict: An A+ Recommendation

After three years, six sets, and countless hours of juggling, the Higgins Brothers Juggling Balls remain my #1 recommendation. They offer the perfect blend of size, weight, durability, and performance, all at a very reasonable price point.
Whether you’re a complete beginner looking for your first set or an experienced juggler looking for a reliable practice ball, you simply can’t go wrong with these. They are, in my opinion, the best all-around juggling balls on the market.
Final Grade: A+

The Higgins Brothers juggling balls are my current top recommendation for a juggling ball. They are durable, a good weight and a good size for anyone learning how to juggle. I’ve purchased multiple sets from Amazon so that I could work on 5 ball juggling and 6 balls with this set.
They don’t roll far at all while you are juggling and drop. That means you’ll spend less time chasing the ball around your house/apartment.
This particular juggling ball weighs 130 grams and is 2.5″ in diameter. They are a bit heavier than some of the other juggling balls that i’ve reviewed, but not by much. The average juggling ball should weigh at least 100 grams and be 2 to 2.5″ in diameter, so these fit that. If they were closer to 2.35″ in diameter and 100-110 grams, they might be the exact perfect ball.
