Duncan Juggling Ball Review – Are They Any Good?

I’m buying all of the juggling balls on Amazon to review them so you don’t have to. That led me to buying the Duncan Juggling Balls for review.

These are the cheapest on Amazon and you can tell when you get them, especially if you are comparing them to the other best juggling balls. If you are just looking for the cheapest juggling balls to learn on, these are “fine”, but you’re more likely to succeed if you get a little bit nicer set. Check out that article I list below.

The shape is a little weird to me. They are more of a box shape than a circle, which most traditional juggling balls are. In the video I also mention that the seams aren’t all done the same and that it does seem that some of the balls have less beans/beads inside than others. They do feel like they are mass produced on some of the older machines that handle production.

Why does it matter if there are less or more beans inside?

When you are learning to juggle, you want every ball to be identical. Any little differences with the balls is going to be noticeable to you and it will mess with your ability to learn. In an ideal situation every single ball is the same weight, height, width, etc.

If one ball weighs more than another, you’ll throw it to a different height naturally while you are juggling. You can see this by picking up a tennis ball and then a billiard ball and try to throw them to the same height. The height of the throw will be drastically different, causing the juggling pattern to get out of sync. This means you’ll drop it more than you would like.

The same thing happens when you juggle like a tennis ball and ping pong balls. You’ll notice the height difference based on the weight.

Duncan is known for making things like yo-yo’s, at least in my mind that’s what I think of when I hear Duncan. So don’t be surprised that they aren’t the top juggling ball.
